Liquid caustic soda, also known as sodium hydroxide, is an important raw material and also a material used in various chemical processes in many industries. This product is produced by PT Pakerin and PT Tjiwi Kimia. The pulp and paper industry is one of the largest users of caustic soda products worldwide, where caustic soda is used as a feedstock in pulping and bleaching processes.
Caustic soda is also used in the process of recycling waste paper, which is in the process of "de-inking" waste paper, besides also widely used in water treatment process.
In the textile industry, caustic soda is used in cotton processing as well as in the process of staining synthetic fibers such as nylon and polyester. In the soap and detergent industry, caustic soda is used in saponification reactions, namely the conversion of vegetable oils into soap. Examples of the use of caustic soda are used in small quantities including household cleaning products, drink bottle cleaners, small-scale soap making, and others.
